No.

44. WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY?
If I could have anything at all, world peace or my parent's debts cleared. Being realistic, a sum of money anywhere in the £100-£200 range would be dandy. My next bithday will be my 18th, so I expect my parents will want to plan something. My uncles and dad have offered to take me to Amsterdam or Berlin for my 18th, which sounds fun - I would be quite happy to go to either city, even if it meant I didn't get any other presents. Not that I should expect them as I get older, anyway.

Exam Results

I don't know where else to put this, sooo:

Physics: D
Chemistry: U

Sounds bad, ja? Well, I'm 10% above the school average for the Physics exam, and 3% below the school average for the Chemistry exam. Both exams had considerably lower school averages compared to national averages.

So personally, considering some of the A-Grade Chemistry students got D's in their Unit 2 exam, I think I did pretty damn well to get 48%.

As for Physics... well bah. If the exam board isn't nice enough to offset the school average, I can do better next year/resit/whatever.

Anyway, my parents seem to think I should get a job. Not a part-time, but a full-time one. Which I feel is the same as saying "son, I think you're and utter fucking failure".

Whether people reading this think my reaction was right or not, I ended up shouting a lot, since, you know, everybody else n school appeared to do pretty fucking terribly too. However, my parents only care about my grade on it's own, and not how well I did compared to the rest of the school, and they seem to think that marking it a second time or some other magic grade-boosting technique would help if it were used.

On that note, according to my parents, I'm angry and try to take control of the household, which is to say, I frequently disagree with them, and have a tendency to shout after half an hour of them repeating the same point over and over, but I think most people would.

tl;dr

  • Mood: Stuck
  • Listening to: Kadmium - Sins and Darkness
  • Reading: Lord Foul's Bane - Stephen Donaldson
  • Watching: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
  • Drinking: Tea
Finished watching Evangelion and End of Evangelion last night... spent this morning trawling fansites trying to work out what the gay actually happened during the end of the series and film. I read that the director (Hideaki Anno) said that the viewer was supposed to find their own meaning for the show, so I spent a while in bed/thing morning running through the whole series to see if I could come up with anything other than ‘Don't molest women in comas’ (although I'm doubtful I would ever do that anyway). I guess the meaning of the show is that people can't ever really be happy unless they have tight relationships with people, but whatever, from what I've read so far, it sounds as if there isn't really any meaning to be found.

Aaaaanyway, onto shows that make slightly more sense, I got my hands on some Gurren Lagann as :iconsupermarthandroy64ds: suggested. I'm currnelty on episode eight, and so far it's pretty good. \o\

I'm more or less given up watching Gundam Wing, I forget which episode number I'm on but I stopped finding it particularly interesting... eh.

Aside from that I haven't done much that's too relevant here... I think.

Arr well, any other shows people would reccomend watching?

I WONDER IF I CAN USE this

  • Listening to: Propane Nightmares - Pendulum
  • Reading: Lord Foul's Bane - Stephen Donaldson
  • Watching: Steamboy
  • Playing: Xenosaga II (eventually)
  • Eating: Nothing
  • Drinking: Tea
Hummmmmm, normally read any new journals that deviantART tells me about, so I wonder if I could use zis, too.

Aside from the fact I'm a total n00b at this, lesse:

Spent the better part of my summer holidays watching Gundam Wing (the only animé I actually liked that used to be on Cartoon Network, however my parents cancelled our Sky contract like, five episodes in), I'm getting approximately two episodes a day, and I'm on episode 14. Dats good stuff when there's mecha fighting, but there seems to be a lot of poncy people talking, too.

Been watching Evangelion, too (watched it before, but I'm in the process of obtaining End of Evangelion, so it makes sense to watch it again, I guess). Even though I've seen it all, it still makes me go "wat".

Also, bought Ghost in the Shell "Stand Along Complex" 1st + 2nd Gig ages ago... only just finished watching them, which I think is a shame, becuase I quite enjoyed them. Now to go buy the movies, I suppose, since I do want more of that stuff.

Anyway, need more animé to watch, most of my irl friends don't seem too intent on going outside and doing stuff, or haven't told me about it, anyway. If anybody has any suggestions, I'd be happy if you listed them, if not I think I might just steal that list of stuff Vicky said he was going to watch in Poland or something. \o\

Also: think it's worth me using this feature? I'm unsure myself. (y/n)
